We entered the Mystic Lake Casino on Friday morning and had all day to hang out in the same building we were having our show and staying. Nice. Of course the whole day trapped in the buidling with blackjack tables and a buffet has its risks. I came out even. Really.
We got these guys on the way in. All access to the same stage Adam Lambert would be on a few days later? Don't mind if we do!
The view from my room was the golf course behind the hotel. Thanks, Mystic Lake!
Don't let a bunch of improvisors in a room with a backdrop. We had a post-show meet and greet with some audience members and photos were taken with this sweet background. But clearly Edgar and I walked a red carpet too.
The show was good and the improv set was great. Now, when I say the show was good, I mean we had a great time, but there was an expected number of walkouts just after Superpowers, which we've come to anticipate when we're in a conservative environment. The new aspect to this was the next day when a guy in a Metallica T-shirt (not a judgment, just an observation) approached us the next morning as we left for the airport and informed us that he was offended and had walked out. Oh....ok...thanks? Not sure what reaction he was looking for. I do respect his personal need to inform us directly. He wasn't aggressive about it, so it clearly took some courage to approach us...even if it was mostly pointless. But we appreciate your honesty, Joe Metallica!
Next tour: not until July. Next run: at home at Theatre on the Lake!
