Back in the van and on the road through cheese country!
Our trip and our venues were really beautiful.
First stop, Thrasher Opera House in Green Lake. We stayed at the Heidel House Resort, where swimming and cheese curds happened. The Thrasher theatre was adorable. It looked like a an old converted church and we sold out a house of about 250. They couldn't have been nicer...partially because of their response and partially because of the free coffee and pastry we received from the neighboring bakery, Sugar Lips. If you ever find yourself in Green Lake, WI, get some pumpkin bread. And go next door to Little Corporal for breakfast ice cream! We did.
Oh boy, what a couple of badasses.
Also a result of our nearby art patrons, Kyle obtained a set of super strong magnetic balls that come together to make shapes and things. It was pretty mesmerizing. I tried to get this shot of him tinkering with his balls on our way to Egg Harbor.
And here we are! Our stage and...
Our house. It filled up like our own little personal Lollapalooza. We learned that Egg Harbor houses 250 people, and it looked like all of them came to the show.
After the show we went to a nearby restaurant for a quick meet and greet before heading back to Chicago. The shows were really fun and the trip was nice after a long break from the road. But summer is almost over and show regularity will return soon. Of course I have to readjust to road food. Ice cream, cheese and chocolate...not meant to be eaten all in one day.
Next Stop: St. Charles, IL (technically a tour, but still close to home)
